Abstract
The larval food plant of Hypena manalis (Walker) proves to be bog hemp, Boe hmeria cylindrica (L.). Partly grown larvae rejected stinging nettle, Urtic a dioica (L.). The mature larva of H. manalis is described and illustrated. It is compared to larvae of H. bijugalis, H. baltimoralis, H. madefactalis , and H. humuli.
