Abstract
Ln this work, we measure the thermal diffusivity and the thermal conductivi ty ot calcium fluoride crystals doped with several amounts of trivalent erb ium ions. Measurements were performed at room temperature using a new and s imple photopyroelectric procedure. We have observed that the thermal parame ters of these crystals decrease as erbium ion concentration increases. Ther mal parameters obtained by this method are in very good agreement with thos e found in the literature.
