Abstract
We report the GALLEX solar neutrino results for the measuring period GALLEX IV, from 14 February 1996 until 23 January 1997. Counting for the GALLEX I V runs was completed on 19 June 1997. The GALLEX IV result from 12 solar ru ns is [118.4 +/- 17.8 (stat.) +/- 6.6 (sys.)] SNU (1 sigma). The combined r esult for GALLEX I + II + III + IV, which comprises 65 solar runs, is 77.5 +/- 6.2(-4.7)(+4.3)(1 sigma) SNU. The GALLEX experimental program to regist er solar neutrinos has now been completed. In April 1998, GALLEX was succee ded by a new project, the Gallium Neutrino Observatory (GNO), with newly de fined motives and goals. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All ri ghts reserved.
