2-Sulphonic diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt (SDDS) and its diazoresin were s
ynthesized and their thermal stability and photosensitivity were investigat
ed. The results show that the thermal stability of SDDS is better than that
of diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt (DDS), and is close to that of 3-methoxy
-diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt (MDDS). The SDDS and its diazoresin are hig
hly susceptible to UV light. The photoimaging behaviour of SDDS-resin was s
ubject to a preliminary study. (C) 1999 Society of Chemical Industry.
