Abstract
The conservative approach to treatment of idiopathic scoliosis is generally based on orthoses exerting external forces which, when imparted to viscoel astic structures, are bound to be dissipated. The Progressive Action Short Brace (P.A.S.B.) is a brace of new design employed for the treatment of tho racolumbar and lumbar curves. The P.A.S.B. geometry is designed so as to co nstrain the spine dynamics by permitting only those movements whose directi on aims at correcting the deformity. Forces being continuously generated du ring the spine dynamics, no dissipation occurs and corrective actions are g enerated.
