THE PERTURBATION REPRESENTATION FOR MOLECULAR INELASTIC-SCATTERING

We develop a simple transformation that removes much of the coupling b etween states in the coupled Schrodinger equations for inelastic scatt ering. In the sudden limit, the method becomes identical to the infini te-order sudden approximation and the discrete-variable representation , and therefore the approximation is a generalization of these methods to the case where there is a finite energy spacing between states.
