The M+: CE complexing ratios (n), the distribution of M+ between the two ph
ases (D-M) and K-ex values of Li+, Na+, K+ cations were determined making u
se of liquid-liquid two phase system and CE 15C5, 18C6, B15C5, DB 18C6 and
DCH18C6; the anions involved in the formation of supramolecular complexes o
f (CE .. M)(+)A(-) type originated in 2-p-nitrophenyl-2-phenyl-1-picrylhydr
azine (NO2DPPH2) and 2,2-(p-nitrophenyl)-1-picrylhydrazine ((NO2)(2)DPPH2).
At the same time the pK(a) values of these acids were also determined. The
amounts of M+ transferred into the organic phase as supramolecular complex
and the K-ex values depend on M+ alkalinity, hydrophobicity and cavity siz
e as well as pK(a) value of the pair anion utilized.
