Abstract
This paper reviews the literature pertaining to issues in the care of peopl e being tested/treated for sexually transmissible infections (STIs). The di scussion focuses on the sexual history and the impact of prejudice on the c linical management of STIs, and examines the appropriateness of current cli nical practices for modern sexual contexts. Research directions for sexual health care are identified.
