A study of stormwater infiltration system feasibility and design

There are numerous reasons, such the saturation of the existing downstream sewer system or its concentrate discharge impact on the receiving water, fo r using stormwater infiltration systems. However, their feasibility within an urban development project depends on physical soil characteristics and c ontamination risk, and also on socio-economic considerations. The choice sh ould be based on multiple comparative evaluations. This paper is an overvie w of feasibility and decision criteria, taking stock of currently available models and approaches.
