Abstract
Electrostrictive actuators and multilayer capacitors are two potential appl ications for PMN-PT (the title compound). Its preparation by mechanochemica l reaction at room temperature as an ultrafine nanocrystalline powder of pe rovskite structure is reported here. The Figure shows a scanning electron m icrograph of the fracture surface of PMN-PT following sintering at 1050 deg rees C for 1 h.
