Abstract
The formation of regular hexagonal superstructures in liquid crystal system s is of potential importance for optoelectronic applications. The authors r eport the kinetically controlled partial dewetting of a discotic host that contains chromophoric guest molecules to give the regular hexagons seen in the Figure, which was produced using fluorescence microscopy.
