Abstract
The photoluminescence properties of porous silicon have been recently inves tigated through the attachment of a variety of alkenes and alkynes to the s urface using hydrosilylation reactions. As an example, the photograph in th e Figure shows the photoluminescence of a silicon surface that has been pho topatterned by reaction with 1-dodecyne. Results are summarized in this rep ort.
