Abstract
The effects of cadmium and copper on in vitro growth of Bacopa monniera (L, ) Wettst, was monitored. Cadmium (25 and 50 mu M CdCl2) inhibited plantlet growth and addition of 50 or 100 mu m CuSO4 partially alleviated this negat ive effect. Cadmium increased both protein and proline contents, but to a l esser extent with the additional supply of CuSO4.
