This article proposes that the experimental data associated with Treun
er et al. (Treuner, M., Galindo, V., Gerbeth, G., Langbein, D., and Ra
th, H, J., J. Colloid Interface Sci, 179, 114 (1996)) indicates that a
secondary oscillation may exist for bubble motion due to thermocapill
ary effects in a low gravity environment. This oscillation in the velo
city appears to have a frequency of about 4 Hz for a 2.0-mm bubble in
octane with a temperature gradient of about 0.56 degrees C/mm. (C) 199
