Abstract
BACKGROUND. Nevus spilus is usually an acquired lesion that can present the rapeutic dilemmas for clinicians. OBJECTIVE. Using an intense pulsed light source, a nevus spilus on the face of a 23-year-old woman was treated. METHODS. The intense pulsed light source, utilizing a 590 nanometer filter, was used to treat the nevus spilus. RESULTS. Four treatment sessions with the intense pulsed light successfully treated the nevus spilus, and it has remained clear at the G-month follow- up. CONCLUSIONS. Nevus spilus is a difficult condition to treat; the intense pu lsed light source should be considered in the armamentarium when treating t his condition.
