The best conditions for the preconcentration of cobalt and palladium as com
plexes of heterocyclic azo compounds immobilized on Silochrome C-120 were f
ound, and spectral and colorimetric properties of these compounds were dete
rmined. It was found that the greatest difference in colorimetric character
istics is observed for cobalt(III) and palladium (II) 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-na
phtolates. A method for the separate determination of 0.03-0.3 mu g/mL of c
obalt and 0.013-0.13 mu g/mL of palladium was developed based on the princi
ple of two-wavelength colorimetry.
