Abstract
Density, viscosity, and refractive index data at 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15 K as well as the speed of sound at 298.15 K in the binary mixtures of acry lonitrile with methanol, ethanol, propan-1-ol, butan-1-ol, pentan-1-ol, hex an-1-ol, heptan-1-ol, and butan-2-ol are presented over the whole range of mixture compositions. From these results, excess molar volume, V-E, deviati ons in viscosity, Delta eta, molar refraction, Delta R, speed of sound, Del ta u, and isentropic compressibility, Delta k(s) have been calculated. Thes e quantities are fitted to a Redlich-Kister type polynomial equation to der ive the binary coefficients and estimate the standard deviations between th e experimental and calculated quantities.
