Abstract
We report a high statistic x-ray magnetic circular dichroism study of USb0.5Te0.5 carried out at the uranium M-IV,M-V edges. Using the sum r ules, the detailed analysis of our data yields orbital and spin moment s of the 5f uranium electrons in reasonable agreement with values extr acted from a localized moment approach.
