Abstract
The vibronic absorption and emission spectra of 3-pentyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl i n nonpolar, moderately polar and polar solvents, as well as Fourier Transfo rm Infira Red absorption spectra of biphenyl, 4-ethyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl and 4-pentyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl in KBr were measured. In these two kinds of spect ra, change of the band shape has been observed for flexible molecules. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
