Abstract
The three-dimensional Lagrangian integral method is used to simulate the el astic end-plate instability that occurs in the rapid extension of some poly meric filaments between parallel plates. It is demonstrated that the upper convected Maxwell model describes the essential features of the instability . (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
