Abstract
This paper presents the solution of the problem of determining the spot siz e of a scanning beam in the case of a nonlinear (binary) image-recording pr ocess. It shows that the size of the actual spot in this case is a factor o f two less than that of the air image and an order of magnitude more stable against variations of the beam parameters.
