The crystal and molecular structures of [(phenH)(2)CI][Cr-2(CO)(10)(mu-H)]
(1) and [K(phen)(2)][Cr-2(CO)(10)(mu-H)] (2) have been determined by single
crystal X-ray diffraction. The availability of the potassium cation for th
e carbonyl oxygens coordination influences the conformation of the anion in
2 as demonstrated by the comparison with the non-coordinating [(phenH)(2)C
