Abstract
Fourier transform spectra of O-18-enriched, O-17-enrichrd, and natural wate r vapor recorded between 9600 and ii 400 cm(-1) have been analyzed to assig n the (H2O)-O-17 spectral lines. More than 1000 transitions were finally as signed to the (H2O)-O-17 isotopic species leading to 420 precise experiment al energy levels of the (0 0 3), (2 0 1), (1 2 1), (1 0 2), (3 0 0), (2 2 0 ) vibrational states. Rotational, centrifugal distortion, and resonance cou pling parameters have been derived from the fit of the experimental energy levels to an effective Hamiltonian based on Pade-Borel approximants well su ited to describe the large centrifugal distortion in H2O. The resulting rms deviation is 0.013 cm-1 with 97 varied parameters, (C) 1999 Elsevier Scien ce Ltd. All rights reserved.
