Abstract
Aramid fibres offer tire makers the opportunity to reduce the weight of bea
d rings substantially and at the same time offer good performance levels. S
everal processes exist for bead manufacture using this material, but invest
igations have shown that winding untwisted aramid filament yarn together wi
th a thermoplastic matrix provide the optimum solution.
