Ag. Kozlovskii et al., MYCOTOXINS OF PENICILLIUM STRAINS ISOLATED FROM SOILS OF UNDISTURBED AND ANTHROPOGENICALLY DISTURBED ECOSYSTEMS, Microbiology, 66(2), 1997, pp. 169-172
Mycotoxins of 19 Penicillium strains (belonging to 12 species) isolate
d from habitats subjected to strong anthropogenic stress and from undi
sturbed extreme habitats were identified by means of chemical and phys
icochemical methods. Strains of the species P. chrysogenum, P. vulpinu
m, P. spinulosum, P. griseofulvum, and P. aurantiogriseum synthesized
sets of secondary metabolites different from those known for these spe
cies from the literature. No appreciable production of mycotoxins was
revealed in the strains of species P. glabrum, P. dangeardii, Penicill
ium sp., and P. funiculosum.
