Abstract
Two reactive methanimines, the parent compound H2C=NH and N-dimethylsi lylmethanimine, have been conveniently generated by the retro-ene reac tion of easily accessible allylic and propargylic precursors, The stru cture of N-dimethylsilylmethanimine has been established by coupling f lash vacuum thermolysis with photoelectron spectroscopy.
