Abstract
Both the cross-special density at the observation plane (Fraunhofer domain) and the intensity distribution of the interferogram there, when non regula r 1-D gratings are illuminated with a spatially partial coherent optical fi eld, involve terms which exhibit the mathematical structure of Moire patter ns and take a part in the cross-spectral density in the observation plane.
