Abstract
The reaction e(+)e(-) --> omega pi(0) --> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0)pi(0) has been stu died with SND detector at VEPP-2M e(+)e(-) coIlider in the vicinity of the phi meson resonance. The observed interference pattern in the energy depend ence of the cross section is consistent with existence of the decay phi --> omega pi(0) with a branching ratio of B(phi --> omega pi(0)) = (4.8(-1.7)( +1.9) +/- 0.8) x 10(-5). The real and imaginary parts of the decay amplitud e were measured. The phi --> omega pi(0) decay was observed for the first t ime. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
