Abstract
Transient absorption spectrum of triplet state of 9,10-anthraquinone-2-sulf onate (AQS) in aqueous solution has been investigated using 248 nm (KrF) la ser photolysis. A whole transient absorption spectrum with absorption maxim at 380 nm and 580 nm has been assigned to triple AQS from detailed kinetic analysis of decay of 380 nm and 580 nm signals, which is the neat characte ristic absorption of triplet AQS reported for the first time. In addition, the difference in feature of the spectrum of tripler AQS in H2O and that in CH3CN was eliminated by further study using 248 nm laser pulses. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
