Crosslinking of polyvinylcarbazole with electron beam irradiation

Polyvinylcarbazole (PVCz) was electron irradiated at temperatures from 323 to 633 K. The induced crosslinking was evaluated with gel permeation chroma tography and gel fraction determination. Crosslinking of PVCz was detectabl e on electron irradiation at 50 kGy; further increase of dose increased the crosslinking. Heating PVCz up to 473 K during the irradiation accelerated crosslinking markedly at dose up to 300 kGy. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
