Creep deformation as well as damage evolution in nut bolt assemblies have b
een investigated. A damage model was developed, based on a combination of K
achanov theory and critical creep strain threshold. Exceeding the creep str
ain threshold cause initiation and growth of creep cavities. The model toge
ther with a modified Norton-Bailey creep law was implemented in the user su
broutine Creep of the FE code Abacus. Verification of the computation was d
one by means of comparison with creep tests of nut bolt assemblies.
