Oblique metal deposited thin films for magnetic recording

In this paper both oblique evaporated and sputtered magnetic thin films wil l be discussed. It will be shown that separation of a columnar morphology b ased on the shadowing effect can be used to obtain desirable properties for magnetic recording, In principle, both evaporation as well as sputtering c an be used to exploit the effect of shadowing.
