Abstract
A method of fabricating pure germanium dioxide hollow-core fibers is i ntroduced. The inner diameter of the fiber is 0.8 mm. Its transmission loss is 1.23 dB/m at 10.6 mu m. The mechanism of transmitting CO2 las er radiation through the fiber as well as the transmitting performance are discussed. Applications of these fibers are also envisaged.
