The influence of the coefficient of carrier-gas inlet flow splitting o
n peak spreading in the adsorption chromatography of hydrocarbon gases
on open tubular columns is investigated. It is shown that the coeffic
ient of carrier-gas flow splitting may be as large as 1 : 10 without a
deterioration of the column efficiency and the peak symmetry (for a c
olumn 0.32 mm in inside diameter).
