Abstract
We have experimentally demonstrated the dynamic equalization of three WDM channels by using a polarization-independent passive wavelength de multiplexer, a parallel array of AO modulators, and a dynamic feedback control circuit. This module actively equalizes the power differentia l from >10 dB to within 1 dB of three channels spanning a range of 8 n m, This module can respond faster than 0.1 mu s. After 1000 km of tran smission within a recirculating fiber loop, three channels remain equa lized by the dynamic module, This module can accommodate small or larg e channel spacings commensurate with the different channels allowable into the wavelength demultiplexer.
