Hs. Ajgaonkar et Sm. Khopkar, Solvent extraction separation of calcium (II) with cryptand 222 using erythrosine as the counter anion, CHEM ANAL, 44(1), 1999, pp. 61-66
Calcium(II) was quantitatively extracted at pH 9.0 with 1 x 10(-3) mol l(-1
) Kryptofix 222 in a mixture of xylene-nitrobenzene (8:2) in the presence o
f 1 x 10(-3) mol l(-1) erythrosine B as a counter ion. Calcium from the org
anic phase was determined directly spectrophotometrically at lambda = 548 n
m against the reagent blank. The study of the effect of pH, varying concent
rations of erythrosine B, cryptand 222 and the role of diluent has been stu
died. Calcium was separated from large number of diverse ions in varying ra
tios.
