Abstract
Two new lupin alkaloids, which are the first ester derivatives of matrine-t ype lupin alkaloids, (-)14 beta-acetoxymatrine and (+)-14 alpha-acetoxymatr ine, were isolated from the leaves of Sophora tonkinensis along with fourte en known lupin alkaloids: 17-oxo-alpha-isosparteine, (-)-sophocarpine, (+)- matrine, (-)-14 beta-hydroxymatrine, (+)-14 alpha-hydroxymatrine, 13,14-deh ydrosophoranol (5 alpha-hydroxysophocarpine), (+)-sophoranol, (+)-9 alpha-h ydroxymatrine, lamprolobine, (+)-5 alpha,9 alpha-dihydroxymatrine, (-)-bapt ifoline, (+)-matrine N-oxide, (+)-sophocarpine N-oxide, and (+)-sophoranol N-oxide.
