Abstract
Restriction of tomato roots by growth in small containers strongly sup pressed transport of Ca-45(2+) ions to new leaves and apices. Water tr ansport, expressed on a leaf area basis, was marginally reduced by roo t restriction, an indication that calcium transport was more severely limited than water transport.
