For isotopically separated secondary beams of U-233 delivered by the S
IS-FRS facility at the GSI, fission-in-flight induced by electromagnet
ic excitations in a lead target and by nuclear interactions in a plast
ic target at beam energies of about 420.A MeV was observed. The nuclea
r-charge yields and the total kinetic energies released during the fis
sion process as a function of the nuclear charge of the fission fragme
nts were measured. The results are compared to data measured by therma
