Abstract
Sweet potatoes [Impomoea batatas (L.) Lam], cv. 'Georgia Jet' can be showed for 5 months by disinfecting the roots inside the storage rooms by means o f fogging with 1% iprodione (a systemic fungicide), applied with the Tabor Atomizing System combined with the curing procedure. The percent decay afte r 5 months of storage, which followed this combined treatment, was 5%, comp ared with 61% in the non-treated control. The percentage of potato (Solanum tuberosum) decay caused by Erwinia carotovora subspecies carotovora after 5 months of storage, following disinfecting the tubers by fogging the stora ge rooms with Compound P via the Tabor Atomizing System, was 4%, compared w ith 26% in the non-treated control.
