Abstract
The present study demonstrates, in both hybrid NG108-15 and mouse neuroblas toma N18TG2 cells, the presence and regulation of PDES mRNA during cell dif ferentiation. PDES cDNA probes in Northern blot analysis recognize a simila r to 9 kb transcript in bovine lung as well as in mouse neuroblastoma cells , Hybridization on total RNA extracted from dibutyryl-CAMP-treated NG108-15 cells shows a 5-fold increase of PDES 9 kb mRNA: such an increase is not o bserved in N18TG2 although,ve observed a similar increase in the enzymatic activity of both cell lines, Our data demonstrate that PDES gene expression can be regulated by cAMP and suggest the existence of a complex regulatory system for PDES activity.
