Abstract
The equations for flow of several compressible liquids in a porous medium, elastic in the vertical dimension, are derived. In numerical reservoir calc ulations and simulators, the compressibility of the medium may be taken onl y partially into account. The origin of the ambiguity is traced, and the di fferences are illustrated by a comparison with the integrated mass balance equations.
