Abstract
Within the framework of Bond-Order Conservation - Morse potential (BOC-MP) model, the oxidation of carbon monoxide on Pd(ll I) surface and an cubo-oct ahedral Pd particles having sizes in the range of 2 - 5 nm has been studied . The model calculation involves estimating for each particle size, the hea ts of adsorption of CO and O from BOCMP model and using them along with oth er kinetic parameters to derive the rate of CO, formation under the Langmui r-Hinshelwood scheme. The rate of CO2 formation reaction is found to be hig her for small particles in qualitative agreement with experimental results.
