Abstract
The Western Australian water industry went through a revolution in 199 5. Now more commercial in focus, it is making a greater contribution t o Western Australia's economy. At the same time, improved regulatory s tructures have ensured that standards are met for product quality, ser vice response, environmental impact, and conservation. Pricing is movi ng to a user-pays, full-cost basis, with subsidies explicitly funded b y the government.
