The reaction of cyanoacetic acid hydrazide with carbon disulfide in basic d imethylformamide afforded the potassium thiocarbamate 2 which underwent rea dy heterocyclization upon its reaction with alpha-haloketones to give the t hiazole derivatives 4 and 23.
