Th. Deng et al., Solubility of anthracene in ternary (propanol plus heptane plus cyclohexane) and (butanol plus heptane plus cyclohexane) solvent mixtures, J CHEM THER, 31(2), 1999, pp. 205-210
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in ternary
(1-propanol + heptane + cyclohexane), (2-propanol + heptane + cyclohexane),
(1-butanol + heptane + cyclohexane), and (2-butanol + heptane + cyclohexan
e) solvent mixtures at T = 298.15 K. Nineteen compositions were studied for
each of the four solvent systems. Results of these measurements are used t
o test the predictive ability of the ternary solvent form of the combined N
IBS/Redlich-Kister equation. Computations showed that the model predicted t
he observed solubility behavior to within an overall average absolute devia
tion of about 1.3 per cent. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
