H. Poppe, System peaks and non-linearity in capillary electrophoresis and high-performance liquid chromatography, J CHROMAT A, 831(1), 1999, pp. 105-121
Non-linearity and systems peaks are closely related. In fact, the occurrenc
e of system peaks at positions that are not so easy to predict is the conse
quence of non-linearity in the separation system. These things are observed
in HPLC as well as in CE. In this presentation the theories and models dev
eloped in both fields are compared. An attempt is made to formulate a commo
n framework for the description of these phenomena in the two techniques, i
ncluding affinity capillary electrophoresis (ACE). (C) 1999 Published by El
