Abstract
A patient with sepsis due to Capnocytophaga canimorsus developed a cir culating antibody and a transient protein C deficiency. The possibilit y that such abnormalities may contribute to the thromboses seen in C. canimorsus infections is discussed. Confirmation of this possibility b y the demonstration of similar abnormalities in other cases may have a n impact on treatment.
