Abstract
Disorders of gastric emptying are rare in healthy infants and children. Del ayed gastric emptying is encountered in adults after operations on the stom ach, such as vagotomy and partial gastrectomy, and is extremely rare in you ng patients. The authors report on a 15-year-old patient with gastroparesis after th ree attempts to repair a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, Medical therapeutic trials consisting of all combinations of diet regimes with var ious gastrokinetic drugs failed to alleviate the intractable vomiting. Ail the patient's symptoms resolved after subtotal gastrectomy with gastroduode nostomy (Billroth I).
