in the next 10 to 20 years, Certified Vocational Evaluators will expand and
market their roles as vocational/career experts, disability specialists, a
nd educators. These roles will result in two distinct service directions: 1
) career assessment and development services for the general public, includ
ing individuals with disabilities; and, 2) community-based assessment for p
ersons with severe disabilities. Through the process of informed choice, co
nsumers will learn to use profiles and portfolios in self-assessment and ca
reer planning. "Cyber-evaluations'' wilt take advantage of interactive comp
uter technology in all aspects of assessment. Vocational evaluation will ga
in professional independence as it becomes recognized as a service that has
value to society.
