Abstract
in the next 10 to 20 years, Certified Vocational Evaluators will expand and market their roles as vocational/career experts, disability specialists, a nd educators. These roles will result in two distinct service directions: 1 ) career assessment and development services for the general public, includ ing individuals with disabilities; and, 2) community-based assessment for p ersons with severe disabilities. Through the process of informed choice, co nsumers will learn to use profiles and portfolios in self-assessment and ca reer planning. "Cyber-evaluations'' wilt take advantage of interactive comp uter technology in all aspects of assessment. Vocational evaluation will ga in professional independence as it becomes recognized as a service that has value to society.
